There is no chance, no destiny, no fate, that can hinder or control the firm resolve of a determined soul
– Ella Wheeler Wilcox
For centuries intellectuals, poets and philosophers have proclaimed that men has the power of control over their own destiny and fate. They sing the tales of great resolve and achievement, yet fail to tell us how this can be achieved.
The reason why an individual has complete control over his destiny (whether or not he realizes it), is because he has the power to influence his own subconscious mind and manifest his own desired reality.
If you understand what manifestation truly means, then you will be amazed to find that the principle of autosuggestion is a technique that can help you influence the subconscious mind to give you anything that you desire.
This complete guide to autosuggestion and the subconscious mind has compiled everything you need to know about the principle of autosuggestion.
Here you will learn:
- What is the principle of autosuggestion
- How does autosuggestion work on the subconscious mind
- What are the most powerful autosuggestion techniques
What Is The Principle of Autosuggestion?
Autosuggestion refers to all self-induced suggestions and intentions that are transmuted to your mind. It is the process of self-influencing your own mental and physical state.
The reason autosuggestion is such a powerful principle is because of its ability to influence your subconscious mind. Whether they be good or bad, all dominating thoughts that are held by the conscious mind will eventually reach the subconscious mind through this principle of autosuggestion.
Later on we will also be talking about ways in which we can enhance these the influence of positive thoughts that we desire to manifest into reality. But first, let’s take a look at how thoughts are transmitted into the subconscious mind.
How Does Autosuggestion Work to Reprogram the Subconscious Mind?
Without going too abstract into the concept of how our thoughts originate, it is important to note that all our thoughts first appear as impulses. At that very moment, we either choose to dismiss that thought or to give it the focus of our conscious thinking mind.
This is the very first barrier – our conscious mind. It is our conscious mind that stands guard and decides whether or not any thought is “worthy” to be passed on to our subconscious mind.
In this way, we have been built with the innate ability to have absolute control over all ideas that reach our subconscious mind (although we are not always exercising this control).
Failure to realize this power is the reason why most of us are STUCK with limiting mindsets and thoughts. It’s the very reason why the “poor get poorer”. When we don’t exercise our control and allow our negative thoughts to run wild in our conscious mind, we may not realize it but we are actually “feeding the beast”.
Limiting thoughts like “I can’t do it”, or “it’s just too hard, I should give up”… these thoughts are passed on to the subconscious mind and end up manifesting in our reality.
When we decide to exercise our control on our subconscious mind, here’s where autosuggestion comes in. In the words of Napoleon Hill: “Autosuggestion is the agency of control through which an individual may voluntarily feed the subconscious mind thoughts of a creative nature.”
Instead of letting giving to the fate of our circumstance to define our thoughts, we apply autosuggestion to allow us to take control and reprogram our subconscious mind for positive, powerful thoughts of success.
The Most Powerful Autosuggestion Techniques
Once we have identified the desire that we absolutely want to manifest within our lives, we can then apply autosuggestion to influence our subconscious mind into manifesting this desire into reality.
Here’s how we can communicate to our dominating thought directly to the subconscious mind.
1. Identify Your Object of Desire
Your object of desire must be something big. A dream that will give you purpose to work on it every day. It should be a long term goal, not just a list of to-dos for the day, but rather something that excites and challenges you.
- Be definite in the amount and exact value of the goal that you will achieve. There is a strong psychological reason for ensuring that your goals are made in definite terms. For instance if you we wish to manifest money into your life, don’t just say “I want money”. Settle on an exact amount like “I will manifest 2 million dollars into my life”.
- Identify what you will sacrifice in order to achieve your goal. There is “no victory without sacrifice”. In order to manifest your burning desire, you will need to be willing to give something in return for success.
- Make sure your goals have a timeline. You must, must, must, have a time limit set for your goals. This is extremely important if you are serious in achieving any particular desire.
- Write everything that you have identified in steps 1-3 into a statement of purpose. Once you have identified what it is you truly want to manifest in your life, write it down, keep it close to you and read it everyday.
- Repeat the Statement of Purpose to yourself everyday and mix the words with emotion and believe.
- Put your plan into action.
2. Mix Emotion & Belief
Writing your goals down and repeating them every day is the first step, but simply used like that doesn’t help you influence your subconscious mind to achieve that dream.
In order for a goal to manifest, you must cultivate the belief and unwavering faith that you WILL achieve it. The trick to allowing these thoughts to influence your subconscious mind is to mix emotion and believe every time you communicate the thought.
This is because, the subconscious mind only recognizes and acts upon thoughts that are combined with emotions and feelings. Simply reading a phrase will have no consequence on your disposition unless the emotion has been invoked when reading it.
When you communicate your desire to your subconscious mind, you must think, feel and believe that you are already in possession of your dream. And your subconscious mind MUST present you with the keys to unlocking this door.
2. Repetition and Persistence
When you first start out, you may not have absolute believe and that’s fine. The important thing is to repeat the object of your desire day in and day out until it becomes so firmly ingrained within your mind that you KNOW you will achieve it.
Absolute faith is built over time, but you must first start out with the believe that it is possible. The objective is to concentrate upon your desired thoughts and hammer it within your subconscious mind with repetition and believe until you cultivate a burning burning obsession to succeed.
This is necessary for the fulfillment of any goal. Manifestation isn’t magic or sorcery as some may be led to believe. You can’t manifest something by doing absolutely nothing. Your thoughts can be transmuted into reality, but you must pay the price in order to influence your subconscious mind for success. The best part is that it doesn’t cost you a penny, all you require is persistence.
3. Create a Definite Plan And Put It Into Action
When you combine your desires with emotion, believe and repetition, and you convince your subconscious mind to believe that you will achieve what you have been visualizing, then will you force it to find the practical plans to manifest your desire.
The important thing here is to ACT. Remember that manifestation isn’t simply sitting on the couch and praying for something to happen. Quite the contrary, the whole point is to force your subconscious mind to act in a way that will bring you closer to your success.
Don’t wait until you have a full definite plan to realize your goal. Go out and actively pursue it, all the while demanding for your subconscious mind to handover the plans you need.
You must always be playing offense – always taking the proactive approach to reaching your dream (because you absolutely believe that you will achieve it). The moment you take the defensive position and wait for things to happen is when you have lost.
4. Do Not Trust Your “Reason” (Read this if you’re an overthinker!)
For those of us who are “great thinkers” (like me!), we tend to overthink on every little concept or idea. Thus, you can imagine that our conscious mind poses a much larger barrier to manifesting our dream desires simply because we tend to overthink things and we see the risks even before passing the thought on to the subconscious mind.
Do not trust your “reason” when creating a plan. Your reason is faulty and inhibits purposeful action. I have been at the brunt of reason many a times. My “careful reasoning” had always incapacitated me from taking great action to pursue my dreams. That’s because the source of reason does not spring from faith. Reason is a defensive mechanism where the body tries to protect you from the risks involved by telling you that you shouldn’t do it. It comes from a place of fear.
When this happens you must go in the opposite direction if you want to manifest your dreams. Whatever brilliant thought, idea or inspiration could have been the catalyst for the realization of your dream. Failure to act is the number one fatality for success.
When these ideas flash through your mind, you should just go for it. Respect your ideas and act upon them immediately. Those who achieved great things in life were not the ones who sat back and pondered whether they would fail. Those you succeeded are the action-takers, the ones who trust in their believe and hence have successfully forced their subconscious mind to hand it to them.
Go Forth With Persistence
The truth is, we are always manifesting in our lives. The difference is that most of the time, we are not conscious of the thoughts that we give life to. If you wish to manifest your greatest desires in life, the principles covered in this article will set the foundation for your journey.
