Law of Attraction In The Bible
How the bible relates to the Law of Attraction is an important topic that few have addressed. Is there any evidence of the principle of manifestation in the bible? What proof do we have from bible text that the Law of Attraction exists?
In order to accurately approach this issue, we first need to understanding how the Law of Attraction works.
Let’s examine the core components of the Law of Attraction. The central idea behind this Law is that thought reigns supreme.
“We attract what we think.”
In other words, whatever thoughts we fill our minds with will eventually manifest into our reality. Understand that manifestation is happening right now as we speak with whatever thoughts you allow into your mind.
Those who wield negative thoughts in their minds will breed a desolate future, whilst those filled with positivity and optimism will attract people and opportunities with the same energies that we put in.
Faith As The Foundation
Manifestation starts of with a thought impulse that is shaped into the form of a desire. This desire, when combined with absolute faith, persistence and a burning hunger to succeed, will drive the Law of Attraction to deliver the desired outcome that we want to achieve. For the Law of Attraction to work, faith is an essential ingredient of the manifestation recipe.
In a similar way, the teachings of the bible are all centered around faith. The more we believe, the more we are exposed to the teachings, spiritual guidance and wonders of God. The reason for this as explained by the Law of Attraction is because the more we fill our minds with a thought founded in faith, the more likely we are to attract and manifest the thought into our lives.
Is the Law of Attraction Focused On Materialism?
A common misconception that most people think separates the Law of Attraction and the bible is because it seems to be very much focused on materialistic objects of value.
“I want to manifest a car”
“I want to manifest $10,000 by next month”
“I want to manifest my soulmate”
We often hear statements like these which serve to contribute to the perception that positive manifestation and the Law of Attraction is all about materialism world views. This is not meant to be the case.
As I’ve mentioned before, the Law of Attraction describes the means of which an idea can be translated into its physical equivalent in reality. What ideas we feed into our minds determines whether or not the outcome is materialistic. Sure, a large number of people may seem to have materialistic goals, but they do so because of their own individual disposition and certainly not because the Law of Attraction is encouraging them to be so.
In a large number of manifestation resources, we often advocate the use of the principle of specificity. This is important because having a definite goal and purpose is a crucial factor to manifesting something in life. You cannot hit the bulls eye if you don’t know where it is on the target.
One mustn’t confuse specificity for materialism. For instance as opposed to having a general idealistic cause like “to eliminate poverty in the world“, positive manifestation techniques call that we form a definite goal in our minds which can be quantified, such as “I will raise $100,000 for charity to feed the people suffering without food in my country“. That way we can work towards a specific goal and ensure that we can indeed manifest it. Whilst our goal may seem like a focus on the money (and hence appear to be materialistic), the true purpose behind it lies in combating poverty in the world – a noble and respectable ideal.
The psychology behind having a definite goal is well substantiated and advocated by greatest achievers of our time. It is the behind the goal that determines if it is indeed materialistic.
Law of Attraction Bible Verses
There have been several instances where the Law of Attraction has been referenced in the bible indirectly. These Law of Attraction quotes from the bible have been subtly hinted in various parts of the bible to teach us that the power to manifest thoughts into reality is an innate quality hidden within all men.
Note that Jesus never mentioned the term “Law of Attraction” directly. The Law was not meant to hold any religious ideologies but rather serve as a universal principle from which men can apply to their lives and consciously manifest their thoughts into reality.
“And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believe, you shall receive it”
– Matthew 21:22
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours”
– Mark 11:24
The starting point of all achievement is the desire and believe that it will be yours. Absolute believe means that you can already visualize yourself having achieved the goal, even though it has not yet manifested in reality. In these bible verses of Matthew and Mark, we can see that the results are guaranteed if we only have the faith to believe that it will be ours.
“Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you”
– Matthew 7:7
“The Kingdom of Heaven is within”
– Luke 17:21
Another reminder of the divinity that lies within us. The answer to creating “the Kingdom of Heaven” (our desired positive reality), already lies within ourselves. We need only search within for the power of our thoughts.
“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he”
– Proverbs 23:7
We are defined not only by our actions but by our thoughts. In this bible verse, we see that thought reigns supreme. The verse did not say what “man DOES”, it says what “man THINKS”. This reveals the absolute power behind thoughts and how it is central to creating our very reality.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed, by the renewing of your mind”
– Romans 12:2
The mind is the starting point of transformation for all seeking to manifest greatness into their lives. Control your thoughts and you will control your life.
“According to your faith, shall it be done to you”
– Matthew 9:29
Again we come back to the core foundation of it all – faith. Manifestation is occurring regardless of of whether our intentions are religious, secular or self-serving, but the key foundation upon which any successful achievement is built upon demands faith and persistence.
“You have taught many people
– Job 4:3-4
and given strength to feeble hands.
When someone stumbled, weak and tired,
your words encouraged him to stand.”
The moment we realize the secret to manifestation and discard our negative beliefs and all limiting thoughts is the moment where we start moving towards a reality that is in alignment with our true nature.
