Why Do Bad Things Happen To Good People?

Why Do Bad Things Happen To Good People

It’s really difficult to understand why bad things happen to those around us, especially when we feel like we are doing our best to cultivate positive energies.

Of the most common topics that I’ve encountered is the question, “why do bad things happen to good people?”. Did they ultimately manifest these encounters in their life? And role does the law of attraction play in this?

Why are bad things attracted to good people?

One of the fundamental rules of the law of attraction is “like attracts like. This means that the energy and vibration we put out into the universe is what we attract back to ourselves. If we are constantly focused on negative thoughts, feelings, and experiences, we will attract more of the same.

But what if I’m constantly trying to be positive but bad things still happen? Does that mean that I attracted it myself? Why isn’t the law of attraction working for me?

This is a great question to ponder.

It’s not your fault

Sometimes it feels like the Universe is “punishing” you for no good reason, but this simply isn’t true. There are a myriad of reasons why negative experiences come about and situations like the death of a loved one, sickness, illness and pain.

The universe does not see things as good or bad, it simply responds to the energy that is put out.

What you need to understand that this is not your fault and you cannot be held responsible for the manifestations of others. Do not blame yourself or feel guilty for the negative experiences of others because it isn’t a result of your intentions.

Negative Experiences Are Part of Life

There’s no running away from negative experiences in life. No matter how positive we try to be, there will always be challenges and setbacks that come our way. While it can be easy to simply view these experiences as entirely negative, it’s important to recognize the deep learning that also comes from them.

Perhaps you might ask, what good can come out if a loved one passes?

We are put in this world to experience it in its fullness. This means that we enjoy life in all its forms, not just the good, but also the adverse experiences that come with it. What we make of our experiences, and how we internalize it, forms the basis of our entire being and fulfilment.

How we perceive things to do, and what contentment we find in our lives is entirely your decision.

Am I subconsciously manifesting adversity in my life?

It’s possible that our subconscious beliefs and patterns can be manifesting adversity in our lives. For example, if we have a belief that we are not worthy of good things or that life is inherently difficult, we may unknowingly attract experiences that reflect those beliefs.

Our limiting thoughts affect us not just from a confidence perspective, but they also affect our decisions and actions.

Spend some time reflecting on your thoughts and patterns to identify any ingrained beliefs that might be preventing you from moving forward. Take into account any persistently negative thoughts or self-talk you possess and make an effort to pin down the guiding principles that underlie them. Once you become aware of these beliefs, you can start to replace them with empowering, uplifting beliefs that support the experiences you want to have.

It’s critical to keep in mind that our worth or our capacity to attract positive things into our lives are not affected by our negative experiences. They actually form a normal part of life’s ebb and flow. We can live happier and more fulfilling lives by accepting these experiences and looking for the opportunities and lessons they present.
